The University of Greenwich in the UK was founded in 1890 by Frank Didden. It was originally known as Woolwich Polytechnic and was established to provide technical and vocational education to local and international students. The University of Greenwich is planning a partnership and merger with the University of Kent. It aims to create the London and South East University Group. This merger will benefit students by offering more course choices and better facilities.
